Making Money From Clickbank

I've just started using Clickbank and thought I would share a few things with you incase anyone else is interested in using it.

Advertisers offer products or services to the Clickbank website. Lots of Affiliates (people who write articles) decide what products or services they want to promote and get a dedicated link. This link is usually placed in and article that waxes lyrical about how great the thing is. Obviously you would write nice things if you want to make money from clickbank...

Whoever reads the article then hopefully clicks through, and buys the product. From this the income is split between the advertiser and the affilliate.

Start Making Money From Clickbank

O.k you can have a look yourself, just go to the clickbank website and create an account first of all, this is free. It took me a couple of minutes. After you have signed up and logged in, click the 'Marketplace' link. Here you can search for products or services you want to promote.

The 'view pitch page' lets you see what people will be directed to if you use that service. There is some info under each service, one important thing is total $/sale, i.e the amount you will make if you get a sale through your link.

Another important thing is 'Grav' or 'gravity', this is a weighting used by Clickbank to determine how well the page converts. I have heard the ones with very high gravity are used by lots of affiliates, so the competition is tough. For newbies I guess a grav of 50-200 would be o.k.

'Create Hoplink' allows you to actually make a link to the product or service, after clicking it enter your username, and then you can copy and paste the link into an article.

Clickbank Analytics

If you click on 'My Account' and then 'Reporting' then 'Analytics' you get some nice analytics about how many click throughs you get, and how many of these are converting. This can be used to determine which schemes are working for you. The ones doing well can be promoted more, and the ones that aren't can be binned.

Is making money from Clickbank easy?

I don't know. I just wrote this because it may save some people 30 secs from working it out themselves. Making money from any affilliate scheme will require a lot of traffic, I can't imagine more than a few percent of people who click through will convert.
